Refurbishment of St John the Evangelist Church, Brighton

Client: St John the Evangelist PCC
Architect: HMDW Architects
QS: HMDW Architects
Value: £65,900
Programme: 11 Weeks

This project required the complete redecoration of the worship areas of the church, the vestry and the entrance porches.

Scaffold access was carefully erected to many areas within the church with the flooring, pews and memorials being properly protected prior to the redecoration of the walls with natural paint products complimentary to the original products.

Due to the fear of damage to the organ pipes the Church required the use of an elevated platform to areas adjacent to the organ. Various repairs were required to the internal fabric, joinery and the steel windows. Upon completion of the decorations the parquet timber floors and the slate flooring to the sanctuary were stripped and re-coated.
