Southwick Community Centre

Pilbeam Construction carried out the replacement of windows to the Café and Porter Room at Southwick Community Centre, together with the provision of new land drainage to the Porter Room. The works included asbestos removal, installation of new windows, and associated internal and external fabric repairs. Due to the differing construction of the buildings, careful consideration was required, with the Porter Room comprising traditional solid flint walls beneath a pitched tiled roof, and the Café being of later cavity masonry construction with a flat felt roof. The project was delivered within a sensitive mixed residential and retail setting, requiring effective planning and coordination.

The Community Centre remained fully operational throughout the works, and we worked in close partnership with stakeholders to ensure disruption was kept to a minimum.
