A community car park was deemed structurally unsafe after a fire destroyed three cars. The fire severely damaged the concrete structure, requiring a thorough programme of repair and restoration.
Works included making damaged slabs and walls safe (with local demolition where required), installing temporary earth supports, and rebuilding structural elements to engineering standards. Existing concrete was hammer-tested to identify unsound areas, then repaired using specialist repair mortar. Surfaces were shot-blasted to remove soot contamination and finished with anti-carbonation protective coatings. Car park surface coatings were replaced throughout using Permapark Waterproof systems, and lighting and power were upgraded to current standards.
