Neo-natal Unit, Royal Sussex County Hospital

Programme: 34 Weeks

This project required the internal alteration and refurbishment of part of the existing maternity ward on level 14 of the Thomas Kemp Tower. The works created a new high dependency unit, special baby care units and overnight stay accommodation for parents, including the installation of specialist mechanical, electrical and ventilation services whilst maintaining services to the remainder of the ward and the hospital itself. Mechanical and electrical service routes were complicated and designed as work progressed, thus requiring a high degree of collaboration with the client, arranging permits for isolations  and the  installation of new connections.
