Glen Arun is an existing nursing home in Horsham. Our task was to trans-form the out-dated 26 bed home by extending and converting the building into a 50 bed nursing facility. The works were carried out in phases with a minimum of 25 beds remaining in occupation throughout the project.

We extended the rear of the building initially, creating 8 additional bed-spaces and remodelled an existing area to form new staff rooms & assisted showers and a pharmacy.

Phase 2 and 3 forked the demolition of part of the building and the construction of a new 2 storey 22 bed wing with the inte-gral ‘garden room’, lounge area, assisted bathrooms, dining areas and ancillary rooms.

Final phases included the re-modelling and upgrading of existing besroomd, creation of a new reception area and extensive landscaping works.

The new buildings were traditionally constructed incorporating steel frames and pre-cast floors. M&E services, a contractor design element, were modernised and improved.
