This project, providing new laboratory facilities, offices and teaching areas, was carried out over three levels of the CRPC Building and level 2 of the JMS Building. The works were split into five phases, all completed in a very short contract period, in order that the University could continue to operate with a minimum of inconvenience. Asbestos located within the working areas was carefully removed prior to extensive alteration and refurbishments of the facilities. Existing mechanical and electrical installations were modified and up-graded, including the provision of an ionised water supply, prior to the installation of the new laboratory furniture which was provided and installed by a specialist supplier.
