Construction of a New Restaurant, Cafe and Link Corridor, Grand Parade, Brighton

This building comprised a part insitu concrete fame and part steel framed building at the Art College, creating new restaurant facilities with a commercial kitchen, dining room, stores and ancillary offices.
A new steel framed glazed link connects the building to a separate cafeteria with an external covered walkway supported on chestnut glulam columns.
The steelwork, concrete pumps and other heavy materials and plant were manouvered onto this confined site via an undercroft, whilst large items of mechanical equipment were craned over the five storey existing building using a mobile tower crane, due to the restricted site access.
