The project was the construction of a single storey two classroom extension, together with circulation space and associated childrens’ toilets, to an existing primary school. The new extension consists of a traditional insulated cavity wall, finished externally with a mixture of facebrick work and coloured rendered panels. The classrooms have a double pitch roof formed by exposed Glulam columns and roof members, with a zinc standing seam roof covering.

The school required a new boiler to complement the existing and provide sufficient heating to the premises, and installation of an IT teaching system, projectors and screens to both classrooms. The contract included landscaping work to the areas around the classrooms, with timber post retaining walls, a mini amphitheatre, constructed using excavated spoil and topsoil, and hard paving to the perimeter of the building.
